Jewelers use Moldex Rubber. Silicone rubber offers many benefits, these are a few: Smooth shiny surfaces on wax patterns, no need for lubricant, wax pattern does not stick, consistency of putty easy to fill molds, and no wasted material.
Features
This synthetic mold rubber is as soft and pliable as modeling clay, allowing you to press your model into the rubber without time consuming cutting and pre-forming of the rubber. No rubber residue adheres to models, even after repeated vulcanizations. Molds can be made using the powder separation method: apply Mica Powder to the two mold halves before vulcanization, and the mold just splits apart after vulcanizing. Powder separation eliminates the laborious task of cutting a mold apart. In its vulcanized form, Contenti Moldex is self-lubricating, so that waxes can be cast without using release agents. As a result, wax surfaces are shiny and smooth, which means better metal castings
