About Motor Brushes:
All Foredom electric motors are 2-pole type, using one set of brushes. Brushes are installed in copper or brass tubes encased in plastic, with screw caps for access. They have compressed graphite for low resistance, low friction, and long life. A pigtail and spring maintain pressure on the commutator, ensuring a current path.
